MBACP Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
You’re welcome here, just as you are; with whatever you’re going through.
Why I Offer Counselling
At the heart of therapy is the relationship: feeling heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. I believe this connection is what allows real change to happen. My aim is to offer a calm, supportive space where you can share your story at your own pace and feel truly listened to.
I’m a Level 7 trained Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, offering talking therapy (and creative therapy) for adults who may be struggling, feeling stuck, or simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply. I’m particularly interested in how our past experiences, especially in earlier life, can shape how we feel, relate, and cope in the present. Together, we can gently explore these patterns, making sense of your experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable.
Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process; one where your experiences are respected, your feelings are validated, and you’re supported in finding a way forward that feels right for you.
If you’d like to explore whether therapy feels right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch by phone or email to arrange a free 20-minute call or to book your first session.
My Therapeutic Approach
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change
- Carl Rogers

Getting to know me
My approach is integrative and psychotherapeutic, meaning I draw on a range of models, including attachment theory, transactional analysis, and internal family systems, to tailor the work to you as an individual.
I offer a calm, compassionate and confidential space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore your inner world at your own pace. Sessions take place in my private garden room, designed to feel peaceful, contained and separate from the outside world, helping you settle and focus on what matters most.
Alongside traditional talking therapy, I can incorporate creative approaches such as imagery, metaphor or gentle art-based exploration when words feel harder to find; always guided by what feels most comfortable for you.
I hold a Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling using the Arts and an Advanced Diploma in the Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts.
I am a registered member of a professional counselling body (BACP), work within its ethical framework, am fully insured, and remain committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice so that my work stays thoughtful, ethical and responsive.

What is Creative Counselling?
Let me help you understand how working creatively may help...
Why work creatively?
Talking can be powerful, but it’s not always easy. You might sense that something’s not quite right, yet struggle to put it into words. Some experiences - especially those from early life, or ones that feel confusing or overwhelming - can be hard to express. Or perhaps you’ve tried to share your feelings and still feel unheard or misunderstood.
This is where creative therapy can offer a different approach.
In my practice, I combine traditional talking therapy with creative tools like imagery, metaphor, drawing, and imagination. You don’t need any artistic skill. The goal isn’t to create “art,” but to use creativity as a gentle way to explore what lies beneath the surface.
Creative therapy allows you to communicate through symbols, shapes, colour, or story - bypassing the pressure to explain yourself verbally.
This can be particularly helpful if you:
-
Feel stuck, numb, or disconnected
-
Struggle to identify or express your emotions
-
Have experienced trauma, loss, or early life challenges
-
Overthink or feel anxious when speaking
-
Find verbal expression difficult due to neurodiversity or cultural factors
Or perhaps you're simply curious to explore beyond the limits of words?
This approach helps you express yourself more fully - whether through words, images, or a mix of both - and gain greater insight, clarity and emotional relief.
Whatever brings you here, I offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space to explore your experiences at your own pace.
Sometimes the hands know how to solve a problem that the mind has yet to understand
- Carl Jung
